Kaltraz™
Kaltraz™ is a unique fluoroelastomer formula based on altering tetrafluoroethylene and propylene. In small words it is a modified Teflon® that has been modified to take the properties of a soft rubber like compound rather than being a stiff plastic. This formulated compound is categorized under ASTM D1418 as class FEPM.
Kaltraz when properly compounded, can be used to manufacture O-rings, gaskets and several types of seals including diaphragms for diaphragm valves.
Kaltraz possesses several unique properties:
- Excellent heat resistance to over 200 degrees C of continuous exposure.
- Excellent chemical resistance, to strong acids and caustics/bases.
- High electrical resistivity.
- Excellent oil resistance.
Kaltraz is a USP Class VI compliant compound that also meets with FDA food contact regulation 21 CFR 177.2600, rubber goods intended for repeated use.
